10 Things I Learnt While Trekking, Motorcycling and Hiking
It’s not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves
At 1:30 PM, I sat down at the gentle breeze and warm sunlight falling on my face. I intuitively took a deep breath and something prompted me to close my eyes and I did. I could hear only my breath, nothing else but the chill from the breeze and sunlight on my face illuminating my closed eyes.
“I have to open my eyes now, I must be late for tea”, I told myself. “What must be the time? 3:40 PM! How?” (I was shocked! I had sat down and had meditated for hours and I had no idea about it or that fact that I could even do something like it!)
I had just completed my longest meditation ever, and I had lost track of time! I may have sat with my eyes closed for over 2 hours without knowing it. I felt new, I felt different & better, I felt calmer and peaceful. The Himalayas do this to you!
Welcome to reading my findings from my recent trek to the Himalayas in the district of Uttarakhand, India to a place called Swargarohini. To be more precise about it, as per Wikipedia, Swargarohini is a mountain massif in the Saraswati (Bandarpunch) Range of the Garhwal Himalaya. It lies in the Uttarkashi District of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand, west of the Gangotri group of peaks.
